All local authorities are responsible for protecting their local environment.
An enforcement officer will investigate all complaints that are submitted and – based upon their view of the case – will decide whether or not planning law is being broken.
In extreme cases, the council may feel that contravention is outside what could be regarded as minimal. It is in this case that an enforcement notice will be issued.
The notice will list the details of the planning policy that have not been complied with, along with the action that the local authority require to be undertaken and a deadline to do so.
If we have to appeal a notice to the inspectorate, we will make use of highly respected solicitors who specialise in this area of planning law.
